Frozen mango and passionfruit pulp blend into a thick, spoonable base that holds toppings without going watery — the key is using minimal liquid and keeping the fruit fully frozen before blending. Passionfruit adds a sharp, floral contrast to the mango's sweetness. The whole bowl comes together in under 10 minutes.

Instructions
Chill Your Bowls (10 minutes): Place two shallow serving bowls in the freezer for about 10 minutes to help the smoothie hold its soft-serve texture. Aim for a freezer temperature around 0°F (−18°C). While bowls chill, set out your ingredients.
Load the Blender for Optimal Flow:Add to the blender in this order: coconut water (1/2 cup), lime juice, optional maple syrup, turmeric, passionfruit pulp (1/3 cup), frozen banana, frozen mango. Liquids first, frozen last encourages a strong vortex. Let the fruit sit in the blender for 30–60 seconds to slightly soften at the edges.
Blend Until Thick and Silky (45–90 seconds): Start on low, then increase to high, using the tamper to guide fruit toward the blades. Blend just until the mixture forms creamy, slow-moving folds and the sound of the motor evens out. The texture should be spoonable and mound in soft peaks. If too thick, add coconut water 1 tablespoon at a time. If the mixture warms and loosens (above about 50°F / 10°C), pause and chill 2 minutes, then resume briefly to avoid over-melting.
Taste and Refine: Spoon a small taste. Add a splash more lime for brightness or a drizzle of maple for sweetness; pulse to combine. For a seed-free finish, you may briefly blend the reserved passionfruit pulp with 1 teaspoon coconut water and strain through a fine-mesh sieve.
Assemble and Garnish: Spoon the smoothie into the chilled bowls and smooth the surface with the back of a spoon. Drizzle the reserved passionfruit pulp in ribbons and swirl gently. Top with diced mango, granola, toasted coconut, chia, and hemp hearts. Finish with lime zest and fresh mint. Serve immediately while cold and vibrant.
Notes
Mary’s Tips:
Banana-Free Version: Swap the banana for 1/2 small ripe avocado plus 1 cup frozen pineapple for similar creaminess and brightness. Or use 1 cup frozen cauliflower rice with 1 tablespoon cashew butter for a low-sugar, ultra-creamy base.
Protein Boost: Add 1–2 tablespoons unflavored or vanilla plant protein. Blend with the liquids to prevent clumping.
Ultra-Thick Texture: Pre-chill the blender jar for 5 minutes and use as little liquid as possible. Freeze coconut water in ice cube trays and use a few cubes if needed instead of adding more liquid.
Passionfruit Seeds: Keep them for a pleasant crunch and visual pop, or strain through a fine-mesh sieve for a silkier finish.
Sweetness Check: Peak-season mango often needs no added sweetener. If out of season, a touch of maple or a soft Medjool date (pitted and soaked 5 minutes) works well.
No High-Speed Blender?Use a food processor: pulse frozen fruit until crumbly, then drizzle in liquids while running until creamy. The texture will be slightly more rustic.
